I tend to gravitate to art that has an idea or a story. I want to make my pictures meaningful to viewers so I use colors that are pleasing to the viewer to draw them in. Hopefully they will be interested in taking a better look. I try to have some highly detailed areas to enrich the painting when it is looked at closely. I like the idea of making something that is enjoyable to just see because it is beautiful but that also has some elements that tell the viewer something about me and what I think is important about the human experience.
