My life
and career in art has been long and varied. I have drawn and painted
since childhood and still do. A major early influence was a much-
idolized aunt , a professional watercolorist and Professor of art.
Trained as an art educator, I taught art for many years and have led many
workshops and classes for children and adults in art, paper cuts, and puppetry
and have worked with groups producing fiber wall hangings and quilts. I
have also worked in book design, calligraphy, and logo design. I am a
profile silhouette cutter and have produced a series of papercut images in
Swiss style of Colorado mountain towns. and I still do watercolors and
ink drawings in what is called these days as "pleine aire" method.
I like to work directly and spontaneously from real life! I have
been a member of Madison and Main gallery since it began in 1987.
